This was the official afterparty for The Forge: Cannes - and one of those nights that felt like everything Cannes represents.
Refraction landed in Cannes for the first time with MIDNIGHT OIL, an after-dark takeover in collaboration with Polygon and Katana, powered by IRL, the onchain rewards protocol for culture. The setting was stunning, the crowd dialed in, and yes - there were queues at the door.
DJ Boring took the booth for a rare, genre-bending set that moved through deep house, dusty breaks, acid lines, and warm UK-rooted grooves. The room hit a collective high when he closed with “Funkytown” - the perfect euphoric twist to cap a set that had the floor locked in start to finish.
The space was brought to life through visuals and design curated by Refraction, featuring works by Connie Bakshi and Nygilia, whose pieces added depth, texture, and tone to the night.
With the Mediterranean breeze, digital energy, and a crowd full of EthCC’s best—it was Cannes in its truest form: elite energy, serious creativity, and a party that delivered.
